5 Keys to Developing the Courage to Go for Your Dreams
How do you develop the courage to go for your dreams? That’s the million -dollar question, isn’t it? Because if you don’t learn how, it will not only cost you the millions you could have earned, it will cost you the realization of your passion and your purpose.
It’s a lot of fun planning the vision for your life and the action steps you’re going to take to live your passion. It’s another thing to keep moving forward as it all starts to become real. That’s where the fear sets in and you start to wonder what ever made you think you could do this.
Here are 5 keys to developing the courage to go for your dreams:
1. Move past the fear
I’m sorry to tell you I haven’t found a magic pill for this. It has to come from inside of you. Nobody can do it for you. And it all starts with your vision.
There is so much more to creating a vision for your life than just discovering your passion. There’s so much more than just writing down some goals. I would venture to say that you’ve done that before and it wasn’t enough to get you where you want to go.
Fear not! There’s a system for creating a vision for your life, just as there is a system for anything else you want to be successful at. The question is whether you will take the time to learn it.
Discovering your purpose was only the first step. To walk through your fear, you have to be clear on where you are going.
2. Create a strong vision
You need a vision that is so strong you can’t possibly walk away from it.
Once you have a strong, compelling vision that’s based on your passion and purpose in life, how could you let anything stop you?
When you know what you want and you’ve visualized it over and over and over until it becomes part of who you are, how could you stop?
When you see yourself in the life you will have upon the realization of you vision, how could you stop?
The answer is, you can’t! You can’t stop; it’s impossible! You can drag out the process, but as hard as you try, you can’t stop!
3. Stop projecting future catastrophes
Are you aware that 95% of the things you spend your time worrying about never happen? So, isn’t worrying about the outcome of things you haven’t done yet ridiculous?
Once you realize you’ve invested so much of yourself into your vision that there’s nothing that’s going to stop you from creating everything you’ve envisioned, what’s the point in letting your fears delay the inevitable?
And it is inevitable. With the vision you’ve created, you’ve tapped into the Universal Laws and everything you need is being drawn to you as we speak. You’ve used the law of attraction by being clear on what you want and asking for it. You’ve used the law of creating a vacuum by clearing out a lot of the things that no longer fit in your life to make space available for something better to show up. Think about it.
You can run and you can hide, but eventually everything you visualize will come to you if you take all the necessary steps. So why fight it? This is what you want more than anything, isn’t it?
Are you crazy? Why would you spend your time discovering your passion and creating a vision for it if you had no intention of following through? Are you the kind of person who does things like this for an intellectual exercise?
Well guess what, the joke’s on you. You’ve created a process you can’t stop. It will move forward whether you have chickened out or not. So what’s the point in trying to avoid your future success?
4. Get Out of the Way
When did you want something so bad you could taste it and then decide you were too scared to go for it?
The only courage you need to go for your dreams is the courage to get out of your own way. Just take a deep breath and move aside.
If you look back over your life, I’m sure you can find many examples when you did just this.
So the next time you feel like your courage to go for your dream has abandoned you, just tell yourself there is no reason to fight it. Falling into your fears can postpone your success for a while, but you can’t stop it, so why even try.
Get back on that horse and keep riding to the finish line.
5. You’ve Always Had It, Dorothy
The good news is you don’t have to worry about how you’ll develop the courage to go for your dreams. You already have it.
When you feel like it’s too big for you to go on, look at how far you’ve come already.
The bottom line regarding courage comes from the Wizard of Oz. Towards the end of the movie, Dorothy thinks she’ll never go home. Just then Glinda the good witch shows up. She tells her she’s always had the power to go back to Kansas but she didn’t tell her before because she wouldn’t have believed her. She had to learn it for herself.
But to find out how to unleash the power she had inside, she needed to ask for help. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need.
So my little Dorothy, you’ve always had the power inside you. All you have to do is have someone show you where it is. You’re so much stronger than you give yourself credit for.

The First Rule: Invest in Yourself
If there is one rule that stands head and shoulders above all others, it is the one that says, “Invest in Yourself!”
This saying gets repeated over and over again by a great many people and yet it is possibly one of the least acted upon rules out there. Chances are you don’t really know what it even means. Let me explain.
An internet business doesn’t exist in a world of bricks and mortar, only in the virtual world of the internet, and in the heart and mind of its owner.
In short: YOU are your internet business. You are all that your internet business really consists of.
You could make cosmetic changes to the outside of a real world business and people would be drawn in after seeing that improvements had been made, and look inside to see how your decor had changed and whether your product lines had changed.
But with an internet business there is no physical building that can be improved. The only improvements that you can make are to yourself. That is what ‘Invest in Yourself’ means. You have to improve yourself in order to improve your internet business.
How do you invest in yourself? It’s simple. You educate yourself about new marketing methods, new technologies that could benefit your business, etc. In short, you need more knowledge. The more knowledge you gain, the more your business will grow in response.
Try spending just one hour a day reading articles or subscribe to an ezine that emails you information regularly about both your industry and also online marketing methods, and you will have invested a significant amount of time in yourself.
Enrol in a couple of courses, listen to teleseminars and webinars. These are the kinds of things that allow you to invest in yourself most effectively. This is the most important thing in online marketing.
Following on from investing in yourself is the principle of “Abundance Thinking”.
What in the world is ‘Abundance Thinking’, you might ask? Well, there are really two ways to look at the world of internet marketing. One way is that that there is only so much business out there and I should get what is mine without regard for anybody else. I call this ‘Limited-supply Thinking’.
This type of thinking might allow you to make a reasonable income, but it doesn’t allow you to maximize your income. It is the opposite of Abundance Thinking.
‘Abundance Thinking’ is the belief that there is a constant supply of new customers arriving in the marketplace, each with the power to bring even more customers with them via referrals etc. This mode of thinking is believes there is enough to go around for everyone and encourages us to work with others instead of against.
Abundance thinking is the belief that we are all stronger together than we are separately and that by helping one another we each become stronger individually. This principle when applied to internet marketing is usually the more productive of the two schools of thought.
Limited Supply thinking makes to selfish and reluctant to share ideas, methods, customers, etc with others. What is yours is yours and no-one else’s. Many decisions are reactive ones based on your competitors perceived tactics. Very defensive and not with the customers interests at heart.
Abundance thinking is the exact opposite. It is proactive, customer focussed and thinks in terms of how things could be done better. This thinking builds relationships, makes more mature, healthy decisions and results in significantly less stress.
Abundance Thinking allows you to share effectively with others whilst enabling you to make the most of the opportunities you have.
Abundance thinking is contagious. People will consider changing their methods of business when they see the way it works, plus many people will consider doing business with you since you will have earned their trust.
Joint ventures will develop more readily once you adopt an Abundance mentality, and you will see for yourself that there is more success in Abundance Thinking than in Limited Supply thinking.
Ways to Apply The Law Of Attraction
If you have heard about the Law of Attraction, you are learning to appreciate all that is entering your life as a result of practicing it. Life should be easier and you should have more abundance. Sometimes though you may actually need to start with just learning to feel appreciation before you can begin to have good things to come. This is the essence of what the Law of Attraction is about.
When you believe fantastic things are already happening for you, you will be so much more appreciative. According to the Law of Attraction, it is important to believe. Furthermore, being appreciative for something you believe is happening sends out positive vibrations into the universe. This brings the good things to you by way of the Law of Attraction.
Without even thinking of the future, you can use the Law of Attraction to draw the positive things to you. If you are thankful for the things in your life, you will be focused in on the good energy inherent in your grateful mind. The Law of Attraction is evident in the way being grateful brings you more to be grateful for.
Your mood will dictate your outcomes. So lets say that you wake up in a bad mood because your cranky kids kept you up late. You can decide that morning if you are going to let that bad mood win out. If you let it dominate your thoughts than more negative things will happen to you all day long. When you use and understand the Laws of Attraction, you will see why this happens.
If, however, you brush off the bad feelings and replace them with ones of appreciation you will be surprised at how much better your day will go. Use the Law of Attraction to help you along. You may be thankful that you woke up beside your loving spouse, or you might be thankful that you have a job to go to. Whatever it is, the Law of Attraction will make it work for you.
So, the Law of Attraction works on a system of appreciation and reward. You need a way to remind yourself to always be thankful for the good things in your life. Some people set aside a certain time each day to list the things they’re appreciative of. They might compile them in a journal and look over them all from time to time.
The Law of Attraction is built on good habits. You can carry some sort of talisman. It can be anything from a rock to a coin. This is what rosary or meditation beads are for. They aide a person in centering on what is important in their lives. It can be anything you will handle daily. Some people put these items in their pockets. Some put them on a string around their necks.
When you touch your reminder coin or stone you are training your self to feel appreciation. Then it is of value to pass that appreciation on by acts of kindness. You will find that your mind will become more directed towards happiness and gratitude. And your thoughts are more about what you are thankful for. This is the main core idea about how to put the Law of Attraction into action.
As you have now seen, it is your mind that is in control of who and what you are. When you use the Law of Attraction it can also expand what you have. If you seek to have better relationships, or health or a better job, this is how you do it. Your mindset and focus on appreciation puts you in a position to allow the Law of Attraction to bring you all that you desire.
