Learn how to Succeed with PPC Marketing

by Sean Galusha

Ask any real PPC professional, and they will tell you that the #1 key to being successful with pay per click marketing is split-testing.

You need to split test everything. From text ads to landing pages, every single aspect of your campaign needs to be tested constantly.

Did you know that just changing one word in an ad or adding a question mark to the headline of a text ad can increase click through rates by more than 500%? The same thing holds true with landing pages. Changing an image or shifting the layout of your site will have an impact (negative or positive) on your overall conversion rates.

To be successful, you have to test all the time. As soon as one test is done, you need to move on and test the same thing again.

One easy way to split test your text ads is to use what is called the chi-squared formula. What this formula tells us is at which point (how many clicks) a test is relevant, at which point we can declare a winner and move on to the next test.

Using the Chi-Square formula, we can make sure that our tests are a minimum of 95% accurate. There are software programs to do this, but it is beyond the scope of this article.

If I were to play Tiger Woods in a game of golf, there is a possibility, albeight slight, that I could beat him once. However, if Tiger Woods and I were to play a game of golf everyday for 60 days, there is a virtually no chance that I could beat him more than 50% of the time over that timeframe. Playing just 1 game of golf is completely insignificant in the overall scheme of things.

This goes to show you how important it is to have more than just a few pieces of information before making a conclusive decision.

It is harder than you think to find a PPC management company that knows what they are doing. A lot of the so-called “Professional Agencies” have literally no idea what they are doing, and do next to no split-testing at all. Don’t fall into one of their money traps, and make sure you know what you are getting before you get management for your PPC account.

Email Marketing and The Mailing List

by Sam Ernie Orion

We all know that every aspect of Internet marketing has a specific tool that helps to drive traffic and sales, and any email marketing campaign is no different. What you need to concentrate on here is developing and building up a mailing list since that is the real cornerstone of any successful email marketing campaign. Remember that there is no denying the power of a well run email marketing campaign and with that in mind there are specific things you can do to ensure that your mailing list is strong and healthy.

Offer Something For Free

One of the oldest advertising gimmicks in the book is still one of the more effective. Its important to keep in mind that you really want your mailing list to have opt in clients. Those are the people that are much more likely to read what youve got for them, and offering this kind of incentive will push them to sign up. One of the more effective techniques is to get a content writer to write a free ebook and then offer the use of it as a bonus for signing on.

Contests

People love to be included in interactive events. Sponsoring a contest on your site draws people in to sign. There is one drawback that youll need to be aware of if you travel this route. Not everyone who subscribes in this manner will eventually convert into a sale. Many of the people that you attract this way will be people habitually playing all the contests looking for the latest freebie.

Article Marketing

This is one of the most tried and tested methods used today. Hiring a ghost writer who will work for a reasonable fee all but ensures that youll get a series of professional articles submitted that cant help but eventually build your mailing list.

Directories

Again, this is one of the more traditional but effective methods used on the Internet. Business Directories are a great way of getting your name out there in cyberspace so that you can draw the kind of attention that will help to build your mailing list in the end.

Of course there are other methods that include ad swaps and hover ads, but the major point here is that you want to have people subscribe to your mailing list. That way, youll already have their willing attention and the buildup on your mailing list will result in a solid email marketing campaign.

Pay Per Click Management

by Alex Plana

Increasing traffic to your site is possible. However, you cannot afford to miss out on the benefits of using PPC (Pay Per Click). To date, PPC is one of the most effective means of internet adverstising.

PPC looks easy on the surface. It is a matter of signing up, deciding what your spend will be, setting your PPC rate, and choosing keywords. Your advertising is accessible almost immediately, and your expectation is that clients will use the Google highway and beat a path to your front door. It sounds simple, but the truth is that simplicity, by itself, is not always the most effective means of getting the best results from PPC.

An amateur PPC user can end up spending thousands of dollars without ever seeing the tangible benefits of a well-run campaign. Using a qualified and professional PPC Management Service allows you to work within a set budget to get the results you want. Expert service can also guarantee you save money while increasing traffic and conversions.

The average CPC (Cost Per Click) price is increasing, and this will make it more difficult for amateurs seeking to profit from PPC. A professional PPC Management Service can utilize their experience to plan proven strategies that work for your business.

The PPC Management Service you choose should be qualified, experienced, and capable of delivering the results you need. Google AdWords is the most powerful and dominant PPC system on the Internet. The company you do business with should be an AdWords expert, otherwise, you will miss out on capturing the revenue that the most powerful search engine available can deliver.

The finer details in your PPC campaign can make all the difference in the world when it comes to success or failure. If you cannot presently make the decisions and implement the programs with your present level of understanding because of all the minutiae involved, hiring a PPC Management Service is the smart thing to do.

Trying to go it alone can be time consuming, difficult, and expensive. Even if you have a program in place that receives a marginal amount of traffic, your program is still in the tank if your visitors are converting into sales. A Management Service can advise you on what why you have a low conversion rate based on years of experience. They can eliminate the guesswork that has plagued your campaign since its inception.

PPC is expected to grow as more and more companies begin to realize its potential. This means that PPC space will become more competitive and costs will rise accordingly. The winners in the game are the ones who allow the experts to manage their campaigns.
