Working From Home Is A Choice
Starting your own work from home based business has many benefits. For many it is a dream come true and many of the aspects are quite positive but to achieve the very best results you should really listen to what others who have already went this route, as they will have some great information to assist you on your journey.
When you work from home, there is no ceiling on income so that your potential earnings are unlimited. However, you must rely on you to pay your salary, and not another will be there to do it for you.
Plan ahead for slow times and you will have to learn how to budget for them. It is always important to have a money reserve put away when you have a home based business.
Another absolutely crucial feat is proper time management. It all sounds great when dreaming of your home business, the flexibility and ability to make your own schedule but poor time management can stop any home business dead in its tracks.
Sidetracks are many when you work from home and they will leave the stagnation and without profit. You will find that you need to establish rules for family and friends. It will take some time to understand, but they finally do. You tell him when you are available.
Do not allow yourself to become a workaholic, which can be very difficult, but time aside each day, so you can at least go outside for a little time each day. Try to maintain a certain balance so that your friends and family do not become resentful of not being able to enjoy you.
Do not be fooled by the false idea that working at home is easier than going to work. It is not easier; as a matter of fact the opposite is true.
Bring forth that entrepreneurial spirit that you have, maintain a positive outlook and continue forward even when things might not look all that good.
Work hard and be fair and you will see how results can be wonderful, really.
Be prepared for the fact that every day will not be easy, it will not be fair, and it will not be profitable, but you’ve got the tools you need to persevere.
Stay committed and, in the long term, you’ll be very happy that you made the right choice.
Marketing In Difficult Times: Improve Website Traffic
Marketing online can be complicated. So many segments, audiences, and offers, finding the right Internet marketing mix is more difficult than ever before. With the help of some online tools, a good strategy, and careful management of your campaigns, you can significantly improve your marketing results even in a difficult economy.
If you are an established business with a well designed website, you may be wondering what has happened in the last few month. Many websites are seeing less traffic or fewer conversions. No matter what ails you, all websites can benefit from a more granular analysis to determine better ways of keeping website visitors on the page or converting into customers.
I have developed a number of methods to best leverage the traffic I receive to my website. With smaller budgets for PPC and other forms of online advertising, getting visitors to convert is more important than ever. These techniques are simple to implement and can really improve conversions.
Provide a free report on your website. When visitors come your website, be sure to have a free offer they can access by providing their name and email address. This allows you to capture information about your users in exchange for helpful or valuable information. After they have provided their email, you can communicate with them regularly.
Use an auto responder. Communicate with your website visitors on a regular basis. This is a great way to convert your browsers into customers. After users sign up for your free information or download, use the auto responder to send messages on a regular basis. Auto responders are very inexpensive and can provide a significant boost to sales.
Create a reason to come back. Another great technique is to change up your free offers on a weekly basis. This is easily done if you offer a course covering a new topic each week. Let users know that by coming back to the site, they can access new information, transcripts from a recent conference call, or access to expert information.
Lastly, think about starting a newsletter. Newsletters are great for opening up a dialogue with your users and helping them solve problems or issues they may be facing. Create topical articles that are relevant and leverage your list to increase sales. Newsletters are inexpensive to produce and improve relationships with customers.
In a tough economy, you need to do what you can to get more from your website visitors. The only way to do this successfully is to first offer something of value. After you’ve made the first move, many browsers will be willing to share some information about themselves. Put your thinking cap on and consider new ways to attract website visitors. Once you have found something that works, stick with it.
With an added focus on traffic and conversions, you can easily leverage the visitors you already receive to your website.
5 Things To Consider Before You Start Your Blog
If you want a blog that will be popular and have loyal followers you need to keep in mind the following things.
1.) Free blog service or set up your own – that’s the question is it better to use one of the free services like blogger.com or should you set up your own site with it’s own domain name?
The simple rule of thumb that I use is if your blog is for your business or for profit have it set up on its own domain name. If it isn’t for either of these purposes then you should be fine on a free blogging service.
If you are running your blog as a business having your own domain name and site will make your blog appear much more professional. Plus it is much easier to optimize your site for the search engines and drive traffic to your site.
2.) Choose the right blogging software – There are a number of different software programs you can use to create a blog such as Joomla, TypePad, Concrete and WordPress. I recommend WordPress because it is the most highly supported when it comes to plugins, themes and even support. There are a number of sites that will help you with your WordPress blog besides the support that you will find at WordPress.org.
3.) Stay in your niche – when you create a blog you should know what niche you are going to be working in. Make sure you stay in this niche. If you stray too far you will loose readers because no one wants to go to a blog about fitness and read about the new triple chocolate supreme delight being offered around the corner.
By keeping your blog on target you will build a following of loyal readers that will regard you as the expert in that field. This will help you when you are selling your product and when you recommend an affiliate product. Stay in your niche to succeed.
Your niche should be something that you have an interest in. Even if you aren’t the expert you should still be able to tell if a post is good or if it sucks and only put good ones on.
4.) Use keywords that get searched – a lot of the traffic you get to your blog comes from keywords that are searched in the search engines. Do a little research and see if the keywords you are targeting actually get searched.
You can do some quick keyword research using the Google Keyword tool. This will at least tell you if you are working with keywords that get searched.
5.) Make your blog personal – most people don’t like to listen to the anonymous stranger that is trying to give them advice. The much prefer to be able to build a relationship with the person (even if only in their own minds) and feel that they know the person giving the advice. You can do this by writing the articles in your own voice or even just putting a picture of yourself on your blog.
These are some the most important things to know about blogging if you use these as your guideline you will end up with a blog that you enjoy working on and your viewers enjoy reading.
How You Can Use the AdWords Keyword Suggestion Tool
Logging into Google AdWords, you will quickly find a large number of very useful tools at your disposal. These tools will make it possible to proof your ads for errors, choose their placement, optimize your website, and generate a huge number of reports so you can how your ads are performing against other sites, in their demographics, and much more. But probably the most powerful tool you will find the Google Adwords keyword suggestion tool, which uses ad data to generate a list of related keywords along with their recent search data and their cost.
To begin, you should generate your own list of some basic keywords. This list of no more than 15 words will give AdWords the data to generate new words and phrases for you. You can either find these keywords directly on your web pages, and Google can do that for you automatically, or you can brainstorm you own list based what you think your most profitable visitors would search for if they wanted what your website provides.
Next, enter your list into the keyword suggestion tool, one word or phrase at a time. You could enter multiple keywords all at the same time, but if were to do this, there’s a high probability the suggestion tool will return a list of hundreds of keywords that don’t really relate to your site. Usually it is a great deal more efficient to limit yourself to entering just one keyword at a time. Allow the keyword suggestion tool generate related terms that you may be able to use.
Whenever you enter a word or phrase into the keyword suggestion tool, it will come back with other keywords or phrases that match websites with similar content. It will also find keywords and phrases from the Adwords campaigns of other site owners who bid on the some of the same words you chose. The suggestion tool estimates traffic per month, tells you how much competition there is for the word or term, and gives you current prices for placement at various levels of the page.
Moreover, the Google Adwords keyword suggestion tool provides you with several dozen more options to get even more useful information about your keywords. The tool allows you to generate monthly traffic charts. These tools tell you how the average monthly popularity of your keywords rises and falls throughout the year. Adwords will generate an estimate of the position of your ad on the page at various bid prices, and you can even retrieve an estimate of the number of clicks you can buy for your budget dollars.
Every one of these bits of information is important as you choose your keywords, but it is still up to you to select search terms that you know match your content. Don’t throw your money away on a low competition, high volume, cheap keyword that won’t bring you any visitors who will appreciate your site and buy your products. But be assured that if you do diligent research and stay creative, every keyword you choose for your Adwords campaign will drive traffic to your site.
Successful SEO – Top Methods for Free
Many people are put off by search engine optimization due lack of knowledge about the process and the effort that it entails to achieve a good ranking. However, if you understand the process and are aware of some of the best tools that make it considerably easier, a good search engine ranking is readily achievable even for the most inexperienced publishers. If you follow proven methods the results are predicatable and you will get huge amounts of free traffic to your site.
Keyword research is the first, critical step to any successful SEO project. If you get it wrong then you could end up trying to rank well for a very competitive keyword and all your efforts will be going to waste. There are some great free tools for doing this like the Google Keywords tool. However, all the free methods have one significant limitation – they don’t evaluate the SEO efforts of the other competing sites and therefore establish how possible it is to compete in the rankings for that keyword.
For my keyword research I use just one tool called MicroNicheFinder. It pulls a lot of data from Google. However, what makes it so helpful is that it weighs up numerous factors including both the number of competing sites and the SEO of competing sites. Keywords that you stand an excellent opportunity of competing for are highlighted in green. It’s beautifully simple yet so incredibly effective.
The content of your site also plays a role in achieving good rankings. In particular your site should contain lots of unique, keyword rich content. You should also make sure that you publish fresh content regularly. The search engines love sites are are updated frequently. This is one of the reasons why blogging is such a fantastic way of generating huge amounts of free organic traffic.
If you know anything about SEO you’ll know about the importance of building back links. One of the best methods for achieving this is article marketing. However, if you try and do this effectively manually I reckon there’s a 90% chance that you’ll give up due to the time and effort that this entails. I just don’t have the patience to do it so I use a great tool called Unique Article Wizard which largely automates the process both in terms of generating unique versions of your article and submitting articles to directories on your behalf. It’s a great tool, highly effective and I couldn’t survive without it.
Now, the above covers getting high numbers of back links. However, the resulting back links are not always on high page rank sites. As the search engines also place a lot of importance on the quality of your back links this is also another important consideration if you want to rank well. To do this I use another paid tool called EasyBacklinker which is (as far as I know) the only way of easily finding high page rank sites which you can add a do follow (this is very important) back link. I’m affraid that I don’t know of any free way of hunting down these sites so would recommend it if you can afford it (it’s not too expensive).
And that’s it basically. If you follow these methods you will get free search engine traffic for your site. I know that these methods work as I use them myself and I can therefore say this with absolute certainty. And the great thing about them is that they don’t take up too much of your time.
Search engine optimization does however take time and you shouldn’t rush it as your site could end up getting sandboxed. For free immediate traffic I tend to publish articles on EzineArticles, Hubpages and Squidoo. These send trickles of traffic until my SEO starts to kick in.
